Heritage and Integrity
Catherine’s journey into the world of design began early, growing up in Marin County as the daughter and granddaughter of local architects. From a young age, she found herself tagging along to job sites, captivated by the transformation of spaces and the creative process behind them. These formative experiences sparked a lifelong passion for design.
She went on to study art and architectural history, spending time abroad in Norway, which further deepened her aesthetic perspective. Upon returning to the U.S., Catherine moved to Lake Tahoe to work with renowned designer Diana Cunningham, founder of Rubicon Collection. She later returned to Marin to pursue her own vision and establish her place in the design world.
As the founder and proud owner of Catherine Coy Design for the past 15 years, continuing her family’s design legacy has been one of her greatest achievements. Catherine now lives between Marin County and Truckee (Lake Tahoe), California, with her husband Chris, a professional mountain bike park designer, and their dog, Manhasset (Manny).
